On our next installment of Free eBook Fridays we have my first novella “The Tommy Gun.” I self-published this book on January 22 as an eBook and paperback. Today only, until midnight, the eBook is available for a free download. Once a month I will offer one of my eBooks for free in the hopes that those who download it will read it and write a review on either Amazon or Goodreads. Reviews are not mandatory, but an honest review will help promote my works and are greatly appreciated. Get your free copy before the promotion ends. Download Here.
I first wrote this book in November 2017 during the NaNoWriMo event, which means National Novel Writing Month. After editing the work, several words were cut causing it to go from a novel to a novella. Many traditional publishers will not publish anything below 70,000 words and this book is just under 50,000 words. I chose to self-publish and have already garnered more sales than my previous works. The paperback is not free, but I do plan to offer some paperback giveaways in the coming year. Below is the synopsis of the book. I hope you enjoy your free copy.
“Government corruption. Hate speeches. A country divided. The world Brent White knew is crumbling. He gets his call to action when a friend goes missing. He trains himself to become a weapon against the new dictatorship. He fights through criminals and concentration camps to find his friend and save lives. He becomes a guardian for the persecuted. To end the suffering, he must stop one person. The politician turned dictator. Ronald Teagun. The Tommy Gun.”
The free eBook this month is Dollar Tales from the Morbid Museum: The Ghosts Inside. This was the first eBook in the Dollar Tales series, and it featured two versions of one story. The first version, which I had published previously was about a serial killer. The extended version is the same story but with the detectives who later arrest the killer. The extended version offers more insights into the lives of the detectives. The short version was featured last week for Fiction Friday: The Ghosts Inside.
This is the last time I’m offering this eBook for a free download. An updated version of the story is included in my forthcoming paperback, The Morbid Museum, releasing September 17. At the end of 2019, I will unpublish this eBook. I will eventually unpublish the other Dollar Tales eBooks, but I have not decided when yet. If you enjoyed the story, or even if you didn’t, I would appreciate a review. It can be one short sentence and that’s enough. Reviews mean a great deal to me and even the smallest ones help more than anyone could imagine. Also, I may include a portion of the review on the information page for The Morbid Museum.
If you enjoy this story, I recommend you pre-order the entire short story collection. You can Pre-Order The Morbid Museum on Amazon Kindle now. It will deliver on September 17. The paperback is available on September 17. You can pre-order copies of the paperback in my Personal Shop. Books will ship no later than September 24. I’m sorry I cannot get them out any sooner. The Morbid Museum includes a collection of 19 stories framed around the story of the museum itself. All the stories in the Dollar Tales series are included in the book as well as many more.
On our next installment of Free eBook Fridays, we have a short collection of short stories, “Dollar Tales From the Morbid Museum: Flash Fiction.” I self-published this collection on June 30, 2018 as an eBook. Today only, until midnight, the eBook is available for a free download. Once a month I offer one of my eBooks for free in the hopes that those who download it will read it and write a review on either Amazon or Goodreads. Reviews are not mandatory, but an honest review will help promote my works and are greatly appreciated. Get your free copy before the promotion ends. Download Here.
The purpose of the Dollar Tales collection is to build up the anticipation for the full paperback collection that is coming soon. I publish a couple of stories as an eBook for a dollar and get feedback on the stories. I also have a few stories published in online magazines which will be included in the paperback edition. This process has helped me outline and figure out exactly how I want to present all these stories in one collection. Not simply a collection of stories with a similar theme but a story within a story. That’s why I created the idea of the Morbid Museum.
The Morbid Museum is curated by Siris Grim who holds a fascination with death; the prevailing theme of the Morbid Museum. He acts as a kind of narrator between the exhibits and each exhibit has a number of stories. I had not figured out this part when I published the first two collections of the Dollar Tales series but the next one coming in April will be a part of one of those exhibits. I also hope to have a couple other stories published in magazines before completing the final collection which will feature approximately 20 stories. Enjoy your free copy.
Visitors to the Morbid Museum seek the dark and twisted corners of the world. They are both terrified and intrigued by the unknown. Tales of killers, monsters, and madmen are curated by the Master of Death, Mr. Siris Grim. Mr. Grim collects the darkness that everyone attempts to hide and displays it within the corridors of his gruesome gallery. Who will be next to purchase a ticket and walk the halls of the Morbid Museum?
