Tuesday Poetry: Smash

When did smash
Become the go-to
Word for sex?
These teenagers
Talk about all they
Want is to
Smash –
With the use of
A word
They found a
Way to remove
The emotion
And humanity
From something
Shared between
Two human beings
I’m not saying
You have to
Be in love
To have sex
But understand
Emotions are involved
Whether you
Want them to be
Or not
It’s still a
Moment
Shared between
Two people
But so many
Have to be drunk
Or under the
Influence
Of something
Or they must
Sneak something
Into someone’s
Drink –
Sex is not so
Important that
You have to
Trick others
Or trick yourself
To do it
But it’s important
Enough to be
Taken more
Seriously
Than something called
Smash
Humanity stopped
Evolving

Poetry Monday: Barriers as Curses and Blessings

The anxiety is a barrier
It holds back so much

            The demon within
            Can never come out

Ambition and confidence
Stifled and pushed away

            The monster, the pariah
            The anger of the beast

I don’t feel like I’m
Who I’m meant to be

The devil is a part of me
But is not who I am

But the anxiety also
Keeps the demon at bay

            Locked away, caged
            The darkness waits patiently

I fear releasing the dark
If the anxiety goes away

Flashback Friday Poetry: The Four Horsemen

the scroll is broken
out of the depths comes Conquest
the white horse rides on

with a bow and crown
he will take on the masses
Conquest will ride on

the scroll is broken
out of the depths comes Bloodshed
the red horse rides on

with a sword in hand
he will take on the masses
Bloodshed will ride on

the scroll is broken
out of the depths comes Famine
the black horse rides on

with his scales in hand
he kills and starves the masses
Famine will ride on

the scroll is broken
from the darkest depths comes Death
the pale horse rides on

with Hades behind
he will conquer the masses
they belong to Him
