Flashback Friday Poetry: Right Decision

now i’m not a godly man
but by God baby i’ll make a stand
to get you if i wanted to
i’ll get what i want if i so choose
but i ask myself now do i want you
and i say, “Hell no baby you and I are through!”
so you best be gettin’ on the move
go on and get yourself somebody new
’cause i tell ya’ that’s exactly what i’m gonna’ do
i’ve gone and put on my walkin’ shoes
i’ll walk outta’ here without singin’ the blues
i’ll find the right girl that’s what i’ll do

Throwback Thursday Poetry: No Love for the Wicked

what is the answer
what is the reason
searching for something
searching all seasons
i think i find it
but my mind’s beaten
my worst fear comes true
my heart’s been eaten

all companions found
interest is lost
the journey i make
i must pay the cost
nothing desired
i’m pelted with rocks
trapped within my head
i can’t break the locks

the problem is me
i make wrong choices
a self-centered fool
quoth all the voices
i can’t overcome
too many noises
here in the darkness
beaten this boy is

Tuesday Poetry: Existence is Futile

I never had trouble
Making friends
I can talk to
Almost anyone
Putting forth the
Time and effort
To connect with them
That part’s hard –
Maybe it’s not about
Effort or motivation
Maybe connecting takes time
And no one wants to
Put that time towards me –
The few close friends
I’ve had
They let me down
Or disappear
I have no support system
Strangers have kinder
Words to say
Than people I’ve known
For years –
I just want to
Feel important
To someone
