Throwback Thursday Poetry: RLS

all these prickling, burning Sensations
do what i must to keep my mind deceived
i lose to Insomnia’s Invasion

almost unbearable Irritation
through constant movement relief is achieved
all these prickling, burning Sensations

body awakes the brain with persuasion
how could my tired mind be so naive
i lose to Insomnia’s Invasion

i can feel them, the subtle Vibrations
these things my nervous system does receive
all these prickling, burning Sensations

not much to do with sleep deprivation
it’s too much for my conscience to conceive
i lose to Insomnia’s Invasion

it seems like improper circulation
or that’s what i have been led to believe
all these prickling, burning Sensations
i lose to Insomnia’s Invasion

Early poetry from James. From the poetry collection Pariah Bound: The Lonesome Poetry.

Throwback Thursday Poetry: A Thousand Misfortunes

the Thousand Misfortunes of tortured souls
better known as demons destroying life
break strong men down ’til they’re no longer whole

Them bring you down when you are on a roll
by your side Them stay, like a loving wife
the Thousand Misfortunes of tortured souls

the men who survive have hearts black as cole
what Them do is, when faced with so much strife
break strong men down ’til they’re no longer whole

the price for freedom, none can pay the toll
Them cut through the mind.  a well sharpened knife!
the Thousand Misfortunes of tortured souls

lost all dreams as they plummet down the hole
what is it Them do that keeps Them so blithe
break strong men down ’til they’re no longer whole

to conquer all Passengers, that’s the goal
Thems purpose for all this, none can deciph’
the Thousand Misfortunes of tortured souls
break strong men down ’til they’re no longer whole
