I had mentioned a while back that I would be a vendor at the Mad Monster Party Horror Convention in Glendale, AZ. This was on July 4th weekend, and I had a blast. I got to meet some celebrities and I sold some books. With this being the third time I’ve sold books at a convention, I think I have a nice base line for how much I’ll sell each time. That’s some valuable information for people on a budget. I made many new friends as well. Some I know I’ll see at next year’s convention and some I may see at other conventions.
Speaking of other conventions, I’m working on the paperwork for YumaCon. This is the comic convention in Yuma, AZ. This convention will be on October 2 and 3 this year. This convention is managed by City of Yuma officials which means there’s more paperwork. I’m awaiting answers to some questions before I can move forward. This convention will help me verify the base line of sales I mentioned earlier. I plan to debut a couple new bookmarks at this convention as well. If you didn’t already know, I sell bookmarks too.
I never did an official product launch for my bookmarks, but I intend to as I roll out new designs. At the Mad Monster Party convention, I showed of my spooky collection of bookmarks. These are all Halloween themed and you can purchase them in my Shop if you’re interested. If you want to get the latest updates regarding what’s new or coming soon, be sure to sign up for my email newsletter and get a free eBook in the first email after you verify your email address. You may have noticed I’m posting less on here. After posting one or two posts every day for over a year, I’ve decided to take a step back and focus on other things for a while. I’ll still try to post once a month. I will post an update or two while I’m at the Mad Monster Party Horror Convention next month. After I finish with the convention, I want to focus on finishing the first draft of my novel by the end of this year. I can easily finish sooner but I’m lazy and procrastinate a lot.
I also want to find new conventions to attend that don’t require a lot of travel on my part, so I can go to all the places. I’m writing more spooky poetry and once I have a surplus, I’ll start sharing things again. I plan to focus all my writing efforts on all my works in progress (which are all horror stories) and spooky poetry. That should keep me busy and satisfied. At some point I plan to continue some of my regular postings such as the book reviews and sharing my photography, but not for a while. I need a break. See you all next month.
The biggest change we have on the blog this month is everything returning to normal. I will continue sharing my photography with Snapshot Saturdays. Wacky Wednesdays are back. And I continue reviewing the many book of supernatural horror and magical realism on Coffee and Contemplation every Sunday. I also have a new serialized short story coming every Friday in May. It’s titled “Keys Reef” and is about a lobster and an alligator that live together. I also have some exciting news coming about new stuff I’ll be selling in my store to include books and bookmarks.
I’ll share in more detail about the Mad Monster Party Convention which I’ll be attending in July. I’ll have a vendor table and will be selling books and spooky bookmarks. I’ll write a special post soon providing more details about this and some of the things I’ll be selling. I’m also trying to get a small collection of stories put together that I can offer as a free download when people sign up for my mailing list. I’m excited about that and I hope many of you are as well. I still have a lot of things to finalize before that is ready. There’s a lot of fun stuff going on and I hope you’re looking forward to is as much as I am.
