Poetry Monday: One

Sometimes
I
Enjoy
Solitude

I
Always
Enjoy
The
Quiet

A
Peaceful
Walk
In
The
Moonlight
Is
Better
Than
Any
Party

Reading
A
Book
While
Sipping
Some
Coffee
In
A
Comfy
Chair
Without
A
Care
In
The
World

Enjoy
The
Rain

Walking
In
The
Storm
Or
While
Reading
A
Book
Indoors

There
Is
Peace
In
The
Lonely
Chaos

Sometimes
Solitude
Prepares
You
For
The
Coming
Storm

Throwback Thursday Poetry: Arrogant

without delay
we shall say
that we are stronger than you

we are omniscient
this is true
and we are more powerful than you

we’ve never met
we’re strangers too
but we are stronger than you

lost within
our own big heads
we are smarter than you

we battle here
we battle there
you win the fight everywhere

you beat us down
to the ground
but we are more powerful than you

Early poetry from James. From the poetry collection Pariah Bound: The Lonesome Poetry.

Twofer Tuesday Poetry: Double Standards & No More

Double Standards

I stopped making sexual jokes
Long ago to avoid other’s anger,
And to act more appropriate.
No one gets upset
When women make sexual jokes.
If I say anything about them
Being inappropriate,
They call me a prude.
It’s best if I never say anything.

No More

We have a disease
In our world –
An epidemic,
A crisis,
A virus
That needs to be
Removed

What is it?

Men –
Specifically
The vulgar men
The selfish men
The insecure men
The predator men
And the behavior
They encourage

It takes a
Village
We all
Must work
To teach
Our youth
To avoid
This behavior

No more –
Creepy stares
Crude comments
No more –
Groping or touching
Without consent
Without permission
No more –

Respect –
Consent –
It’s okay to say
No –
We must teach
Our youth
Stop –

Kill the disease

From the poetry collection Men Are Garbage.
