Twofer Tuesday Poetry: To Be Alone & When Does the Book Burning Start?

To Be Alone

Where do you go,
When you want to
Hide from the world,
And be alone?
How can you escape,
But not run away?
How do you live the dream?
Surrounded by nightmares?
Where do you go,
To be alone?

When Does the Book Burning Start?

Vulnerable
Are we the people
In this democracy
Diversity
Means nothing
To those in power
Entitlement
Is reserved for the elite
Unauthorized for the poor
Transgender
Defies society
And confuses the entitled
Fetus
Is neither live nor dead
Or doesn’t exist
Evidence-based
Has no place in the Union
Or the new world order
Science-based
Would prove the elite wrong
And destroy the fake news
Tyrant
Is a man who denies freedom
To those he claims to govern
Indifferent
Are those who let this happen
When does the book burning start?

Poetry Monday: One

Sometimes
I
Enjoy
Solitude

I
Always
Enjoy
The
Quiet

A
Peaceful
Walk
In
The
Moonlight
Is
Better
Than
Any
Party

Reading
A
Book
While
Sipping
Some
Coffee
In
A
Comfy
Chair
Without
A
Care
In
The
World

Enjoy
The
Rain

Walking
In
The
Storm
Or
While
Reading
A
Book
Indoors

There
Is
Peace
In
The
Lonely
Chaos

Sometimes
Solitude
Prepares
You
For
The
Coming
Storm

Throwback Thursday Poetry: Arrogant

without delay
we shall say
that we are stronger than you

we are omniscient
this is true
and we are more powerful than you

we’ve never met
we’re strangers too
but we are stronger than you

lost within
our own big heads
we are smarter than you

we battle here
we battle there
you win the fight everywhere

you beat us down
to the ground
but we are more powerful than you
