The Shop is Live

Today is the day! The Online Store for all things me is up and running. This is exciting for me because I feel like I’m one step closer to my dream of becoming a full-time writer. I’ll be able to afford all my expenses and can spend every day doing nothing but writing new stories and poetry. This isn’t just a dream for me. This is a calling. I honestly believe I struggle with so many things in life because I’m not doing what I was created to do. I was put on this planet to write and writing is what I will do.

What are some of the fun things you can find in my online store? For starters, this is the only place to acquire signed copies of all my paperback books. Not only that but they are discounted compared to costs on Amazon with a few minor exceptions. If you purchase from my store and request shipping, the costs are about the same, but it takes longer for you to get it in the mail. Why bother? Buying from me means you are directly supporting the author and you copy will have my signature inside. Totally worth it.

I also have a few options for commissioning custom poetry. For a cheap price ($1, $5, $10) you can pay me to write you a poem or your choice in any style. I am not commissioning fiction as even the shortest stories require more time to complete. Poetry doesn’t take nearly as long and it’s something I’ve been doing for over 15 years. I maintain all rights to these poems, but we can discuss purchasing of the intellectual property. Before you ask, yes it will be expensive. But that is not something I’m prepared for at the moment.

Prints of poems are also available. These are my original poems as 11×17 posters. Words can be visual art too. Only a handful are currently available, but I hope to add more if sales support that. My favorite part of this store are the T-Shirts. That’s right! I have shirts available with different titles of my poems printed on them. For the moment they are around $30 mostly because I don’t have any in stock and will have to order them one at a time as orders come in. I hope to lower the price once I have steady inventory.

If you wish to order any items in bulk, please send me an email or contact me through my Contact Page and we can work out a discounted price for the items. If you want to support me without spending money, you can always write a review on my Facebook Page, review one of my books on Amazon or on Goodreads, or tell your friends about me. Support me on social media and talk about what you enjoy. You can even send me an email saying nice things that I can use as a testimonial. Happy shopping!

The Tommy Gun: A Novella

On January 22, my first full length work of fiction becomes available to the public. The Tommy Gun is the longest story I have written to date and I’m excited to hear what others think. Available in both eBook and Paperback, however, only the eBook is available for pre-order on Amazon. You can pre-order now on the Amazon Page or you can wait until the release. The paperback might take a couple more days before it’s seen online. I will have signed physical copies for sale after a couple weeks. So, what’s the novella about?

Government corruption. Hate speeches. A country divided. The world Brent White knew is crumbling. He gets his call to action when a friend goes missing. He trains himself to become a weapon against the new dictatorship. He fights through criminals and concentration camps to find his friend and save lives. He becomes a guardian for the persecuted. To end the suffering, he must stop one person. The politician turned dictator. Ronald Teagun. The Tommy Gun.

The story is told from two different point of views. One is from Brent White’s perspective and the other is from Ronald Teagun’s perspective. Each chapter of the book alternates between the two characters and a couple chapters have both characters trading off during the action. I wrote this story during the 2017 NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). The eBook is $2.99, and the paperback is $9.99. Reviews are requested and humbly appreciated.

I haven’t decided but I may have shirts and stickers with the cover logo available. I guess let me know if you want something like that. My writer shop should be ready to launch within the next month. My goal is to have it finished by February 12. Autographed copies of books, shirts, and requests for custom poetry will fill the store and perhaps other things. So, please tell your friends, write a review on Amazon or Facebook or Goodreads. And I hope you enjoy the novella.

Overworked and Underpaid Kills Creativity

I’ve been lacking in my updates and posts lately. I’ve stayed busy and most of my time has gone elsewhere with multiple jobs and other writing adventures. I created links for all my published works where they were first published if not in an eBook on the right column of my website. I hope to have many more published but I’m behind on writing and editing; mostly editing. I will only get further behind during the holidays. This is the time I put in the most work for the Tucson Fringe Festival, of which I am a member of the board and the treasurer. The festival is mid-January, so all the planning happens in November and December.

I’ve started a new novel which I’ve had to put on hold to finish other projects, but the outline is finished and sometimes the hardest part is figuring out the sequence of events. I have a long way to go before my novella is finished. The writing is done but it requires so much editing and it’s the longest work I’ve ever written which makes it more time consuming. Then I have multiple short stories that need finished and edited. A private office would be helpful, but I don’t have the money at the moment and that’s why I’m working multiple jobs.

I am not in a position where I can work for myself which would be the best thing for me. I’d have less stress and fewer worries provided I’m making enough money. I usually don’t and can’t afford food let alone things like health care. Currently, my finances are leveling off, but I feel overworked and too tired to do much writing. I’m impressed with how much I’ve completed the last couple months. I haven’t done much reading either. Reading can be therapeutic so not reading I think is adding to the stress. Not writing is stressful too.

I hope to find some balance in everything soon, but it can be hard to stay motivated. I go through many peaks and valleys with my motivation and my personal adventures are the first to go when I lose motivation. If I can chip away a little each week, I’ll continue to function and feel productive and not lose my mind. It would be nice if I could work on my creative projects full time because working a random job (or jobs) full-time stifles my creativity. Maybe I just haven’t found that easy job that’s low stress and pays well. I’ll just have to keep struggling for a while.
