Official Announcement Time: My next collection of poetry is coming April 13th. The cover reveal is below. This collection will feature 30 new poems. That’s all. It’s a short collection compared to my many others. I took the advice from a reviewer and didn’t put so many poems in this time. There are a couple poems that might feel out of place, but it relates to several months of growth I experienced. You can pre-order the eBook on B&N Nook and Amazon Kindle. The paperback will be available in April. It will be a small paperback. I also plan to have some bookmarks available for sale to go along with the release of the book.
So, what’s this collection about? Here’s the online description: “Depression is black chaos. A chaos that destroys the soul and pushes friends and family away. This collection features poetry about loss and solitude. It’s a journey of rediscovering and learning to love one’s self. A journey of hitting rock bottom and climbing out of the deep pit of despair.” Maybe that’s not your cup of tea, but writing these poems was the beginning of recovery for me. I will never stop fighting this battle. It will get easier with time. Anyway, once I decide on a design for the bookmarks, I’ll ask everyone’s opinion before printing them. Tell me what you think of the cover in the comments.
I have several new things coming. Later this month, I’ll be announcing many things. I have set the date for the release of my next collection of poetry. Titled “Black Chaos,” will be published in eBook and paperback on April 13, 2021, during National Poetry Month. In the next couple weeks, I’ll post about the book and reveal the cover. I will also reveal a design for a bookmark to go along with the book release. I’ll be looking for feedback and opinions about the design of the bookmark before having hundreds of them printed.
Speaking of bookmarks, I’m designing several different ones to have available for sale on my website. I have more ideas that I’m fleshing out, but soon I’ll have all kinds of bookmarks available. I also plan to have buttons made but this will be a little farther down the road when I have more money saved up. Coming later this year in the summer, to celebrate two years since the release of my short story collection “The Morbid Museum,” I’ll have a new hardcover edition available which will have a different variant cover.
There will be some slight changes to the paperback cover as well, but it will mostly look the same. I may even offer the eBook of “The Morbid Museum” on Nook, but I haven’t decided when I want to do that. The stories and content of the collection will remain the same. It’s only the covers that will be different. The cover of the eBook will remain the same. Those are the major new things. More details for all these things will be announced as we get closer to those dates. If you would like an ARC in digital form of my forthcoming collection of poetry, please contact me and we can work out the details.
We are rolling in hot to the new year. And that means there are new writing goals as well. I hope to have a couple more serialized short stories in the future but no news in that area for the moment. Poetry posts will be a little different this month and part of next month. You probably noticed yesterday’s poetry post titled “The Tales of Enderas.” This is a poem series I wrote many years ago and the remaining Monday and Tuesday posts will be part of this series. I don’t have many poem series so this is fun for me. Perhaps it will inspire more of these. Also, I began writing fiction for this same series using the poems to help outline my ideas. I may revisit this story and eventually post it on my blog.
Also, starting at the end of the month, I’m changing my Saturday posts. January 30 will begin the new segment Snapshot Saturday. I’ll share one or two photos I’ve taken and maybe describe each one. I’m finally taking some pride in my amateur photography. I have hundreds of photos to share as well. This will be an exciting new addition to the blog. I’m excited. Are you excited? I’m excited. For now, everything else is business as usual. There are two more installments of the “Yuletide Aviary” story so don’t miss those. Let me know how you feel about some of these new additions to the blog.
