What’s New Wednesday: November

Not much is changing this month as far as the blog and website are concerned. It’s business as usual. Last year, I didn’t post anything for November. This month will be the best November with the most pageviews since I started this blog. However, pageviews are no longer growing like I hoped they would. Have viewers lost interest in most of my writing? Do things still need to build up more steam before they take off? We shall see. The serial fiction project “Hellpets” will also continue this month. The story will finish on Black Friday. I hope you’ve enjoyed it so far. Please tell me what you think in the comments.

As for things here at home, I plan to finish writing my first novel for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). I started it last November but only got about 25k words. I got more writing done during the quarantine days (remember way back when) and I now have about 55k words for my novel. I have about a third of the story left to write and the first draft will be finished. And then we procrastinate editing for the second draft. It will be a long and grueling process and I don’t want to think about it right now. Wish me luck as I attempt to finally finish something I started.

Wacky Wednesday: November 4

Let the first wackiness of November begin. Actually, the world has been wacky for a long time now and I don’t see the wackiness dying. Our words today come as derogatory terms with which to insult people. (This post was written on Oct 28, so these insults may come in handy after election results are announced.) The first word is Cumberworld. A noun meaning a useless person or thing; someone who is an encumbrance on the world. The next word is Dalcop. Another noun meaning a particularly stupid person. Cop is an old word for head, so it literally means dull head.

We only have a few holidays to celebrate today. First, we have National Chicken Lady Day. This unusual sounding holiday honors Dr. Marthenia “Tina” Dupree. She worked at the second-largest chicken restaurant in the world as Director of Community Relations and Training. She did a lot for the community and that’s how she got her name. Look up more on the Chicken Lady. Today is also National Candy Day. I think this is celebrated only a few days after Halloween so people can sell the old candy. That’s just my opinion.

Finally, we have National Stress Awareness Day. This happens every first Wednesday in November. Probably intended to be the day after Election Day. And some might be feeling more stressed than usual. (Remember this post was written a week ago. See my post from earlier today to know my opinions.) The important thing is to not allow that stress to overwhelm you. Be aware that it exists and try to eliminate some of the minor stresses in your life. Sometimes keeping things wacky can help lower stress. Stay wacky folks.

The United States is the Worst Country

As I type this, the US is still counting votes in some states for yesterday’s election. What upsets me is the staggering amount of people who still voted for someone who has allowed 230,000 + people to die from Covid-19. They voted for someone who has allowed children to be separated from their families at the US/Mexico Border. Many have spoken out about this including representatives from the United Nations. However, no one has taken any action. This election has been too close for comfort. Why? Because the United States Citizens are terrible human beings.

Not everyone of us is like this, but the vast majority do not care about other people. They believe Covid-19 is a hoax. They believe the Earth is flat. They’re okay with people of color being murdered by police. Many people want to say that we shouldn’t judge others and should try to live in peace. These people do not want peace. They do not want change. They want to continue living with their privilege and murdering anyone who isn’t like them. This country is on the precipice of another civil war. Regardless of who wins this election, the losing side will fight back.

What bothers me most is that the United Nations was created to help prevent such things from happening. The League of Nations was founded following World War I to prevent such things from happening again. It was disbanded after World War II because it had failed. The United Nations was then created. As awful things happen again, endangering the lives of people not just from our own country but our neighboring countries, the United Nations has strongly disagreed with US policies. To my knowledge that’s all they’ve done. Whether the United States embarks on another civil war or not, I believe the United Nations has failed just as its predecessor failed.

The United States is the land of the free to die and the home of white supremacy.
