Throwback Thursday Poetry: Where Were You?

when my self-esteem is growing
you break it down
when my self-esteem is falling
you push it down
when i confront you with problems
you turn around
when i ask you to love them
you aren’t around
where were you
when i fell down
where were you
when my body
was thrown in the ground

Early poetry from James. From the poetry collection Pariah Bound: The Lonesome Poetry.
