Throwback Thursday Poetry: Friends

no friends in here
no friends around
all one can hear
is a stranger’s sound

new faces to meet
old faces are gone
new people to greet
old friends are lost

living in memory
and nothing else
friendship won’t last
if you don’t befriend yourself

Early poetry from James. From the poetry collection Pariah Bound: The Lonesome Poetry.
