Nikola Tesla was born at midnight on July 10, 1856. To celebrate his birthday, I would like to share 10 things most people probably don’t know about Tesla. These things were pulled together from David J. Kent, author of Tesla: The Wizard of Electricity. He shared these exciting things on his own website where you can read further these fun things about Nikola Tesla. The first were published on January 4, 2013.

  1. Tesla was a showman, but also a recluse.
  2. Tesla inspired Google’s Larry Page to become an inventor.
  3. Nikola Tesla was a proponent of renewable energy.
  4. Tesla was from Venus (not really).
  5. Wardenclyffe Lives!

Nikola Tesla is one of my favorite historical figures. As the world remembers who he was, more and more information about his life is surfacing. He was almost forgotten to time and history. I’m happy people, not just me, are making an effort to remember him. There was a great show on the History Channel where a few scientists search for Tesla’s missing trunks and documents titled The Tesla Files. Happy Birthday Nikola Tesla!
