mistake after mistake
i constantly make
before i lose face
changes must be made
losing all faith
sacrifice what i crave
though it seems strange
all must be changed
it’s time i find
my priority of time
focus my mind
and feelings inside
no more sublime
nothing undefined
lost in my pride
stuck in the stride
focus must come
i must be one
no more fun
for nothing is done
time to grow numb
to get things done
i’ve had my fun
serious time has begun
Early poetry from James. From the poetry collection Pariah Bound: The Lonesome Poetry.
I have to know, is the lower case “i” a stylistic choice?

It was. I wrote this many years ago when I used capitalization to stress important words.

Interesting technique! I love the intentionality behind “breaking rules”

One of the things I love about poetry is rules can be followed or broken.
