Flashback Friday Poetry: Buckle Down

mistake after mistake
i constantly make
before i lose face
changes must be made
losing all faith
sacrifice what i crave
though it seems strange
all must be changed

it’s time i find
my priority of time
focus my mind
and feelings inside
no more sublime
nothing undefined
lost in my pride
stuck in the stride

focus must come
i must be one
no more fun
for nothing is done
time to grow numb
to get things done
i’ve had my fun
serious time has begun

Early poetry from James. From the poetry collection Pariah Bound: The Lonesome Poetry.
